Dust Classes

Dust extractors are rated with different dust classes. These dust classes establish what type of dust the extractor can safely extract:

  • L class (low) - This is the minimum filter class that the HSE recommends for extracting lower-toxicity dusts in the workplace, like gypsum in plasterboard
  • M class (medium) - This is the minimum filter class that the HSE recommends for extracting wood dust and silica dust (from concrete, masonry, etc.) in the workplace
  • H class (high) - This is the minimum filter class that the HSE recommends for extracting hazardous dust in the workplace, like carcinogenic dust, pathogenic dust, asbestos, mould, glass fibre, etc.

You need at least an M class dust extractor to work on construction sites. Failure to use the correct extractor class on site can lead to a hefty fine and removal from site.

Accessories

We have a great range of accessories, like dust bags and filters, which you'll need for your extractor.
